SS20 Residents Celebrate Police Day

On Sunday 21 March, SS20 residents took the initiative to celebrate Police Day with the local police, in appreciation of the commendable progress in the community policing programme. The close rapport between the DU police and residents has significantly reduced the crime rate in SS20. Our special guests included ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed (OCPD of Petaling Jaya), Supt. Razak bin Elias (Deputy OCPD of Petaling Jaya), Chief Inspector Thomas Sulok (OCS Police Damansara), Sgt Jamil, Sgt Hamdan, Sgt Selvaraja and many other police personnel and police volunteer reserves. Despite the heavy rain, more than 150 residents were present to join in the celebration.

'Face to Face' with the IGP, Sat, Mar 6, 2010

Today, Puan Eileen Thong and a group of our residents attended a dialogue session with Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan at Dataran Petaling organized by PDRM.

At the event, residents from Petaling Jaya were given the opportunity to speak to the IGP concerning the crime and security issues in their area.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we were not able to voice our concerns. However, Mr. E C Tan, who has great foresight, already anticipated this and with some help from Eileen, had compiled our concerns and proposal into a neat file to be handed to the IGP.

Our residents also managed to have their photo taken with the IGP.
