A Fun 'Green' Morning

15 April 2017

RA SS20 Central Zone successfully organised its first Art & Craft Class cum Coffee Morning Potluck. Food was aplenty, contributed by members (roti jala with curry chicken, fried meehoon, pulut inti kelapa, varieties of kuih nonya and boiled eggs, etc).

The 3-R recycling concept (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle) was put into practice. Everyone brought along their own food and drink utensils for the morning breakfast.

For the Art & Craft Class, the ladies (and some men) joined in the making of bags from old T-Shirts. So nice to see them showing off their wonderful handicraft. The next Art & Craft Class will be the making of bags from old jeans.

There was also a side-demo on planting of herbs using discarded plastic bottles. The RA will be pursuing this "urban / vertical gardening" project this year.

Thank you to our Councillor, Cik Jamaliah Jamaluddin and our neighbourhood police, Sgt Mat Din and the MPV team for dropping over to show their support for our activity.

MBPJ will pay for your used cooking oil

MBPJ has made it easy for us to recycle our used cooking oil.
We have been informed that we can dispose of the used oil to the MBPJ Recycling Truck that comes to the Central Zone every Tuesday.

Place the used oil into a bottle. Wait for the truck. Let them know that you have used oil for recycling. They will weigh the oil and pay you 80 sen per kg.
