Beautification of Entrance

Beautification of Rd 12 entrance. 
A project by the RA SS20 Central Environmental Committee to make our living space cleaner, greener, neater and more pleasant for our residents. This project is funded by the Sustainable Community Award Grant from MBPJ. 

A big thank you to the project team especially Mrs Leong of Rd 12 and Mr Yee of Rd 13 who helped to monitor the contractors.

Also much appreciation to Mr Wong of Rd 12 and Mr Yeoh of Rd 11 who generously supply water to keep our plants green and alive!

 

 

 

YES! We won 30k

We did it! What an exhilarating night!

RA SS20 Central was awarded RM30,000.00 by MBPJ in the ‘Inisiatif Habitat’ category at the Majlis Penganugerahan "SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY AWARD PETALING JAYA 2016 DAN PELANCARAN PJKITA", held at Hotel Royale Chulan, Mutiara Damansara.

This award follows our entry in this MBPJ competition among RAs and KRTs in Petaling Jaya.

Our team of RA committee members, Dato' Koh, Dr. Joe, PC Chua and Yin Choo, put together the competition submission and view graphs presentation material. Dato' Koh was our presenter to the judges on 18 Dec 2016.

Our submission was grouped under 4 topics under our initiative tag-line:
"IMPROVING LIVING ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING TOWARDS A GREEN LOW CARBON COMMUNITY" 

1) Upgrading of Padang Facilities and Beautification of SS20 Central Zone

2) Cleanliness and Anti-Dengue / Zika Campaigns
3) Re-cycling Project
4) Composting of Garden and Kitchen Waste

While the team members have done the work in entering and winning the competition, the effort is by the whole SS20 Central community. For example, the effort put into the padang upgrade, beautification of our entrance, cleanliness of our common areas, organising and participation of residents in Anti-Dengue / Anti-Zika campaigns, single stream recycling project, composting, etc. Contribution of effort and funds in specific projects also came from our residents.

MBPJ Sustainable Community Award

We are pleased to inform that the RA SS20 Central is taking part in the Sustainable Community Award or Anugerah Perdana Komuniti Mampan organized by MBPJ. 

The Anugerah Perdana Komuniti Mampan is an annual event open to all registered RAs, RTs and Village Development Communities in PJ. Its aim is to instil social values such as gotong-royong culture in the community and to encourage them to improve and beautify their housing areas.

The 1st prize winner will receive RM50,000 development grant, the mayor's trophy, a certificate and a token of appreciation. 2nd prize is RM25,000 and 3rd prize is RM10,000.

A panel of judges will be making a site visit to the Central Zone at 2:30 pm on Saturday, 1 Nov 2014. 

Dato' Vincent Ng, RA SS20 Chairman will be giving a presentation at the Community Policing Cabin at Jalan SS20/14.  

The RA SS20 Central Committee would like to make a special request to all residents to help spruce up their garden and surrounding areas so as to make our neighbourhood presentable and neat to the judges.
