Double Celebration for Unity

19 Dec 2015-12-20

RA SS20 CENTRAL organized a joint Deepavali and Christmas celebration at the Community Policing Cabin, Jalan SS20/14 to promote integration and goodwill among the residents of different races and religion.

Among the guests present were YB Tony Pua (MP for PJ Utara), ASP Muhammad Najib (OCS Balai Polis Damansara) and his police personnel, Mr Lee Tong Teck (Asst to MBPJ Zone 9 Councillor Ong), KPJ Damansara Admin personnel, Puan Eileen Thong (RT SS20 Chairman), Mr Chung C T (SS20 North Zone RA Treasurer), En Aftar (MBPJ Contractor) and Mr Lim Sern-Li of Votage.

100 residents and guests came together for a light breakfast followed by a talk presented by Nestle on digestive health and a simple brunch. KPJ Damansara contributed rendang chicken and many of our residents brought muruku and cakes to share with all.

The atmosphere of the occasion was livened up with Christmas carolling and more so when YB Tony joined our residents in the carolling.

A big thank you to:
1. YB Tony Pua for being so sporting and taking his time off to join us,
2. Our friendly neighbourhood police personnel, ACP Najib and his men for their support and prompt response,
3. Mr Lee Tong Teck for his assistance and support in MBPJ matters
4. KPJ Damansara for their presence, contribution and support
5. Puan Eileen Thong and Mr Chung C T for their constant assistance and support
6. En Aftar for his prompt and efficient maintenance services
7. Nestle, for their informative talk and food sampling

Most of all, thank you to all residents for their support and participation, without which this event would not have been successful.

Santa brings cheer to SS20

It was a jolly evening when SS20 residents came together for a Christmas eve dinner at Cabin 8 on Wed, 24 Dec, organized by the RA SS20 Central.

The event was complete with Christmas singing by the senior citizens of SSGC and the appearance of Santa Claus. The children were thrilled to bits when Santa distributed goodies to them. Even though there is a shortage of turkeys in Malaysia now, the RA managed to secure 3 scrumptiously mouth-watering turkeys for the event.

The dinner was followed by a lucky draw. 2015 calendars were distributed by YB Yeo Bee Yin's office and there were also other gifts sponsored by Tropicana City Mall management.

Present at the event were YB Yeo Bee Yin, ASP Mohd Najib b Hamzah, new Damansara OCS and his police officers, Che Fatin Izzati, PR & Marketing Services Executive of KPJ Damansara and residents from all 3 zones.

4 celebrations in one

Northern Zone residents held a potluck luncheon on Sat, Jan 12 in the field on Jalan SS20/26 to celebrate Christmas, New Year 2013, the coming CNY and most of all, the first anniversary of being a gated and guarded neighbourhood.

There was a large turnout at the luncheon and residents cooked up an assortment of yummy dishes.

Invited guests were SS20 Councillor Lee Suet Sen, Sgt Hamdan and his team of police and also residents of Central and Southern Zone.

Dr. S M Wong, Chairman of DU Northern Zone RA informed that since the inception of the G&G scheme, there has been no report of crime. The boom barrier at Jalan SS20/1 will be moved further to include the house next to Tadika LittleBell so that outsiders will not be able to park their cars along that stretch of road.
There are also plans to upgrade to automatic boom barriers in the near future.

Congratulations to Northern Zone residents and hope that they will continue to have zero crime rate!

Councillor Lee told residents that MBPJ will be carrying out a lot of maintenance work in SS20 now like patching up potholes and repairing drains. MBPJ will be using its funds for more development work beginning this year, concentrating on sustainable development like having more carbon-free zones, more bicycle tracks, etc.

Certificates of appreciation from the RT were handed out to residents involved in community policing.
