Health Talk - 'Falls in Older People'

A free health talk titled 'Falls in Older People' with free blood sampling and health screening was organized by the RA SS20 Central together with The Ageing and Age-Associated Disorders Research Group from University Malaya at SMK Damansara Utama, PJ on Saturday, 4 July 2015. 

The talk was presented by Associate Prof Dr Tan Maw Pin, Geriatrician, UMMC. 

Health screening included tests on lung & memory, gait & balance, blood pressure and BMI.

About 130 people turned up to listen to the talk and took part in the health screening.

Invited guests present were YB Yeo Bee Yin (ADUN DU), Puan Zulaika bt Abdul Rahman (Pengetua SMK DU), Puan Eileen Thong (RT SS20 Chairman), Mr CT Chung (RA North Zone Treasurer) and Puan Noor (RA South Zone Chairman).

'Falls in Older People'



Free Health Talk and Health Screening organized by RA SS20 Central in collaboration with University Malaya.

Date: 4 July 2015 (Saturday)

7:30 am–9:00am: Blood Sampling (Limited to the first 30 people only, aged   55 years and above)
9:30 am–10:15am: Talk on “Falls in Older People”, by Assoc Prof. Dr. Tan Maw Pin 
11:00am–1:00pm:  Health Screening

Venue: Dewan Sri Budiman, Sek Menengah Kebangsaan, Damansara Utama, Jalan SS20/21, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya

NOTES: 
1) Please fast for at least 8 hours if you want to participate in the "Blood Sampling". Also, bring your "normal" medications for record by the organizers.
2) Participants of the MELoR health programme are not eligible for the Blood Sampling (You have/will have a special blood sampling programme by MELoR)
3) Please immediately register yourself at the "Blood Sampling" counter as soon as you arrive at the Dewan. Blood sampling is ONLY limited to 30 eligible persons, first come first serve.

Free Health Checks, Health Talks and Consultation

In conjuction with World Diabetes Day, the Malaysian Medical Association Wilayah Persekutuan is organising a medical camp with free health screening and consultation in TTDI.

  5. CPR Training by St John’s Ambulance Malaysia
  6. Health Talks
  7. Educational booth from pharma companies, KPJ DSH, State health dept of WP and Putrajaya
