PJ's true unsung heroes

Cleaning drains can be an arduous task.
The opening to the drains are so small that makes cleaning a real challenge. The workers don't even have any turning room to do their work.
Really appreciate the work done by the MBPJ cleaners!

Fun with Thermomix

9 Jan 2016
A fun and engaging cooking demo and lucky draw organized by the Jiran Wanita, RT SS20 Damansara Utama.

A variety of delicious and healthy CNY dishes were prepared from scratch in a mere 1 ½ hours using the Thermomix kitchen appliance. Residents were captivated by the all-in-one miracle machine. Even Mr Marcus Low of Kitchen Table came to check it out.

VIP guest for the evening was YB Yeo Bee Yin, ADUN for DU, who never fails to support us despite her busy schedule. YB Yeo spoke on women’s issues and raised awareness on the rape situation in the country.

Much appreciation to Janice and Theresa for taking their time off to perform the cooking demo and introduced Thermomix to us.

Play part to combat rise of dengue, health experts tell public

PETALING JAYA: A continuous hot and warm season would give rise to dengue cases as it is the perfect condition for mosquito-breeding, warn health experts.
Dr Muhamad Hazizi Muhamad Hasani, who is the Malaysian Integrated Medical Professionals Association (Mimpa) operations director, said there were several factors that contributed to the rise of dengue.
He said a prolonged hot season, coupled with a few rainy days, allowed more mosquitoes to breed at stagnant water areas.
“With such conditions, they can breed and become more active. They can even fly twice further,” he said yesterday.
He said cooperation from the public was needed to combat the rise of dengue as the authorities embarked on several efforts to contain its spread.  Read more .....

Be wary of bump-and-rob criminals, motorists told

PETALING JAYA: Police here are calling for motorists to be vigilant after a string of bump-and-rob cases that they believe were perpetrated by the same suspects.
Authorities said the first two cases occurred on Tuesday when two men crashed into and robbed two people of their cars in the city area.
“The following day, a teacher from SMK Bandar Utama 2 was robbed of her vehicle along Persiaran Bandar Utama. We believe the same people were behind these crimes because the suspects used a car they had stolen from one of the earlier victims to rob the teacher,” said OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim.     Read more .....

Senior citizen reverses car into bank by accident

PETALING JAYA: A senior citizen accidentally drove his car into a CIMB bank in Damansara Uptown, Sunday evening, after mistaking the forward gear for reverse.

“Err.... Sorry but we have not launched CIMB Drive-in service.”
The bank now has to close a portion of its ATM section, after the 70-year-old’s Perodua Kelisa ploughed through the glass panels before hitting a wall in the bank. Read more ...
