1) Snatch theft at Jalan SS20/2 (South Zone, not gated and guarded) last week at 10:30pm.
Suspect came on a motorbike, tried to snatch girl's bag but the girl threw her bag into her compound. The suspect managed to get away with the girl's handphone.

2) Try not to go to the bank ATMs at night.
At 11pm last week, a man was slashed at the neck at one of the banks in TTDI.
The victim went to deposit his cash at the ATM. Suddenly someone stood very close to him. The robber was hiding in between the ATMs. When the victim turned around, the robber slashed his neck and asked for money. The robber did not want the handphone. The victim gave him the money. Then someone else entered the ATM area and was also robbed. 
Police investigation found that normally the accomplices who act as lookout will be in 2 cars parked outside the bank.

Objectives of ‘Save Bukit Kiara’ Walk on 17^th March 2013

• To send a direct message to the authorities concerned that the 189.9 hectares of Bukit Kiara should be gazetted immediately. The public has waited far too long. (Way back in 2005, the Malaysian Cabinet gave its approval to turn Bukit Kiara into a public park). Eight years is long enough for the authorities to complete the gazettement. 
• Save Bukit Kiara from further development. It should remain as it is without any man-made structures at its periphery. We don’t want any more development as it will affect the peace and quiet of the green lung. Dewan Bandaraya KL should reject Berjaya Corporation’s grand plans to build a hospital, international school, commercial area, condos, exhibition area etc on the fringes of Bukit Kiara.Very important houskeeping point:  Please do not litter the hill.  Thank you nature lovers.

MRT Corp to face legal action

Cause for concern: MRT Corp barricades have been put up along the Pinggir Zaaba road in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

KUALA LUMPUR: Residents of Pinggir Zaaba in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, will be taking legal action against Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) on the grounds that it has misled them into believing that residents will be compensated for the acquisition of their houses for the MRT project.

Resident Norliza Kamaruddin said a letter of intent had been hand-delivered to MRT Corp by their appointed counsel on Aug 16.

“We have been taken for a ride by MRT Corp as we were made to believe that they will compensate us accordingly for the acquisition of our houses.

“However, when the special compensation committee (SCC) rejected the acquisition plan on the basis that there was no legal requirement to do so and that it would create an unnecessary precedent for similar situations in the future, we had no choice but to resort to this,” Norliza said at a press conference held at her house in Pinggir Zaaba yesterday.   Read more ........

At 10.30am, a guy got his brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 snatched by a thief on motorbike in front of MAYBANK TTDI, just 200m away from TTDI Police Station.

Snatch theft incident at TTDI

June 27
Snatch theft incident at Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 1, TTDI opposite Alliance Bank at  around 10 am.

Chinese man had part of his gold chain snatched, the other half dropped inside his shirt. Suspect Malay guys using 3 motorbikes, Yamaha 125Z. One of the motorbikes was black in colour, using false number plate.

June 21

A friend almost became snatch theft victim in ttdi in front of the esso station. 2 guys on a bike was pulling on her bag till she fell. She screamed continuously and one of them got off the bike to attack her. Lucky another friend was passing by in a car saw, stopped and started honking continuously. We heard it from across the street and ran towards her and they gave up and left . This is about 200m from the police station

June 22

Last Friday, around 2pm I saw a very unsuspecting smartly dressed Chinese male walking along Jalan Helmi 10 side lane. As he was in office attire, I thought he was just another innocent guy walking . After few minutes later, he tried to break in neighbor’s car that was parked at side lane near Jalan Helmi 9. I and my son shouted to get neighbors’ attention and he ran away. I
immediately informed Balai TTDI just to get them to do some work. Within five minutes few policemen were dispatched to the scene to get clearer description of the guy. Initially, I thought this thief must have left TTDI and no way police could find him and maybe the police just doing ‘some formality’ to pay a visit because I alerted them. Without realizing, in about 15minutes more than 10 policemen dropped by at the scene and ensued to search for this guy and many
of them were in plainclothes. Soon after, while we neighbors still chatting of what had happened earlier, we were so surprised that a police came and informed that the guy has been caught! Later the police informed that this car thief confessed that he has been doing this job nearly 7 years! Lesson learnt; just call the police to do ‘some work’ even if you think that they can’t do much. Kudos Polis TTDI!                    

TTDI right turn may reopen

Motorists have to endure the daily congestion along Jalan Damansara Utama.

THE right turn from the Taman Tun Dr Ismail interchange that leads to Damansara Utama may be reopened soon.

The Malaysian Highway Authority and Lingkaran Trans Kota (Litrak) has agreed to reopen the right turn in a meeting last Thursday pending Petaling Jaya City Council's (MBPJ)'s approval.

Litrak communication head Shah Rizal Mohamed Fauzi confirmed  meeting with MBPJ engineering department director Cheremi Tarman.

He said Litrak was told that the new plan would be submitted to the council's infrastructure committee for approval.  Read more .......

Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn. Bhd. (LITRAK), the highway concessionaire of Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) would like to announce an opening of a new underpass at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI) interchange.

Therefore, a new traffic management scheme will be implemented at the location starting from 0001 hours on 21^st April 2012 (Saturday).

Car window smashed

Sometime last week at about 8:45 pm, a TTDI resident's car window was smashed while waiting at the traffic lights in front of Pizza Hut (TTDI) by 2 guys on a motorbike.
Pillion rider is a "chubby brown man with moustache".

Blue Ocean Strategy

ABOUT 40,000 personnel from three government agencies will be deployed to major towns to fight crime from Jan 1, said Home Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Mahmood Adam. The 40,000 personnel were from Rela, the Civil Defence Department and the police, he said in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here yesterday after the soft launch of joint patrols by the three agencies.

"Today is the first day for some of them to patrol in Brickfields and Damansara. More than 5,000 will conduct joint patrols in the Klang Valley as frequently as possible.” Mahmood also said the use of electronic devices was one way to fight crime. “We will install closed-circuit television cameras in stages in every state and will reactivate existing ones in areas according to urgency, particularly in crime hot spots.” Mahmood said the government had engaged three survey companies to get feedback from the public on issues such as safety and security.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar, who was present, said police would give the personnel police volunteer reserve (PVR) status. “Under the Police Act, the IGP can give PVR status to volunteer police, and this will allow them to exercise the same authority as policemen.  Read more .....

Proposed development of Bukit Kiara

Bukit Kiara Park offers a very exciting trail for mountain bikers.

KUALA LUMPUR: The expected gazettement of Bukit Kiara Park and its surrounding areas as a Large Scale Public Park (LSPP) by the government has drawn some positive feedback from park-goers and residents in the area.

While most of the park-goers and residents are all for the development of the green area, they are also concerned about the adverse effects of overdevelopment. They feel that the area where the forest side of the park is located should be left untouched.

They also feel that any form of development in the forest might damage what is left of the flora and fauna in its natural habitat. Read more .....  

RAs push to have MRT run underground

Scores of residents associations (RAs) in and around Bandar Utama want the proposed Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) to run underground.

Representatives from RAs and Rukun Tetangga from Bandar Utama, TTDI, Damansara Utama, Damansara Kim, Mutiara Damansara and Kota Damansara conveyed this to representatives of the Land Public Transport Commission (LPTC) in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur recently.

Since the announcement of the RM36.6bil project, residents in various parts of Klang Valley have given opposing views.

Rukun Tetangga SS20 Damansara Utama chairman Eileen Thong said in the past the proposal for an elevated MRT track was supported by residents who did not have the proposed track running close to their houses.

No acquisition of homes in Taman Tun Dr Ismail

KUALA LUMPUR: There is a glimmer of hope for residents in Taman Tun Dr Ismail who have had sleepless nights ever since notices appeared in their neighbourhood stating that their land may be acquired for the proposed mass rapid transit (MRT) project.
This is because their land may not be needed for the project after all.

The Land Public Transport Commission said, in a statement, that the final decision on the land acquisition would only be made after the public display ends in May.
