Security Alert - Robbery

1) On Saturday night, four (4) robbers charged into a house at Road 21 while the family of old and young, was finishing their buka puasa get together and robbed them of cash, jewelry, etc. 

The robbers came on motorcycles and were armed with parangs which they used to threaten the family. The robbers were reported to be young Malays, and one of them was possibly a female. A police report has been made at the DU police station.

2) On a separate issue, most of you would know that the Southern Zone "southwest side" G&G scheme has stopped more than a month ago. Some of the residents are at the moment trying to revive the scheme, especially in view of the Road 21 robbery incident. 

3) The majority of us, Central Zone residents, are well aware that we are still fortunate to have a G&G scheme in place. This gives us the comfort that a robbery incident like the one in Road 21 is "very much LESS likely to occur". By having all (except one) entrances blocked off, 24 hour guards present at the entry point and scheduled patrols, it stops would-be robbers rounding/scouting our area. While our guards are not expected to confront "armed" individuals, they will promptly alert the police who can send in their patrol cars and personnel. 

4) We appeal to all households in the Central Zone to contribute to the pooled fund to keep the scheme going for the sake of everyone in the community.

Always keep vigilant of your surroundings. Call the Damansara Utama Police station, at 03-77222222 to send their patrol car (MPV - mobile police vehicle) if you see any suspicious persons around our area.

Appreciation Night

A dinner was held at the Central Zone Cabin as a token of appreciation  

1) for the G&G Block Coordinators for contributing their time and effort in the collection of funds for the G&G scheme

2) to Philip, Mr MC Tan and all the other volunteers who helped to improve the facilities associated with the G&G scheme

3) to Mr Chung (NZ), Pn Eileen Thong and all the other residents who were always there to give their support and help to ensure the smooth running of the G&G scheme and

4) to the police for their community policing effort and the very good response & cooperation with the SS20 community to prevent crime.

Celebration of G&G 5th Anniversary

North Zone residents held a potluck gathering to celebrate the 5th anniversary of their G&G scheme. 

Neighbours came with delicious homemade dishes. It was a cosy event and offered a good opportunity to foster closer camaderie among neighbours. Everyone enjoyed the dishes contributed by their neighbours.

Dr SM Wong, Chairman of the NZ Security said that security in the North Zone was well controlled with the implementation of the G&G scheme and house break-ins have been reduced tremendously.

Also present at the gathering was YB Yeo Bee Yin, who gave a brief update of some of the issues from the Selangor Budget 2016.

SS20 Central Zone G&G Security Scheme Launched!

Road SS20/12

SS20 Central Zone today officially launched its Gated and Guarded Security Scheme.

With the scheme, Jln SS20/12 will be the main entry point with 24 hour security check.

Jln SS20/13 and Jln SS20/20 will be opened during peak hours to facilitate school traffic flow.

During these peak hours, there will be a guard to control the entry points.

These 2 roads will be closed after the peak hours and on weekends and public holidays.

Besides stationing a guard at the main entry point, another guard will be patrolling the residential area.

Gated and Guarded Security Scheme

SS20 Central Zone comprising Jalan SS20/12 to Jalan SS20/20 will be implementing the Gated and Guarded Security Scheme effective 1 May 2014. A briefing on the modus operandi of the scheme was held last night (24 April 2014). There was a large turn out of residents to discuss the way the scheme is going to be operated and how it will affect them. With the frequent and rampant criminal incidents in the area, majority of the residents are in full support to implement the security scheme. While some may argue that security is the responsibility of the police, but residents too must share the responsibility in safe-guarding our families from falling prey to criminals. The police will continue their usual patrolling duties in the area to complement and support our guards. It is the residents' hope that with the scheme, we will be cutting down the crime statistics and at the same time enjoy a peaceful time living in the area. The scheme will also prevent outsiders from enjoying free parking indiscriminately along our roads and in front our houses. We will be able to enjoy more space!
