Security Alert - Robbery

1) On Saturday night, four (4) robbers charged into a house at Road 21 while the family of old and young, was finishing their buka puasa get together and robbed them of cash, jewelry, etc. 

The robbers came on motorcycles and were armed with parangs which they used to threaten the family. The robbers were reported to be young Malays, and one of them was possibly a female. A police report has been made at the DU police station.

2) On a separate issue, most of you would know that the Southern Zone "southwest side" G&G scheme has stopped more than a month ago. Some of the residents are at the moment trying to revive the scheme, especially in view of the Road 21 robbery incident. 

3) The majority of us, Central Zone residents, are well aware that we are still fortunate to have a G&G scheme in place. This gives us the comfort that a robbery incident like the one in Road 21 is "very much LESS likely to occur". By having all (except one) entrances blocked off, 24 hour guards present at the entry point and scheduled patrols, it stops would-be robbers rounding/scouting our area. While our guards are not expected to confront "armed" individuals, they will promptly alert the police who can send in their patrol cars and personnel. 

4) We appeal to all households in the Central Zone to contribute to the pooled fund to keep the scheme going for the sake of everyone in the community.

Always keep vigilant of your surroundings. Call the Damansara Utama Police station, at 03-77222222 to send their patrol car (MPV - mobile police vehicle) if you see any suspicious persons around our area.

Security Update

During community policing last night at the Central Zone, Kpl Zamzuri has reminded us to be more vigilant during this period because from their statistics, there is usually a spike in criminal incidents close to a festive season. We are advised to contact the police if we see any suspicious activity in the neighbourhood. 

1) Late May - Robbery at Jalan SS20/26

A lot of cash was stolen. Intruders entered in a black BMW. Happened during the daytime. Case is under police investigation.

2) 6 June - Burlary at Jalan SS20/4

Cash and computer stolen. The owner's small garden cangkul and hand fork found inside house. Front gate and glass door not locked. Grill was locked. No sign of break-in. Owner suspects intruder squeezed through the grill. Police report has been made.

3) 6 June - Jalan SS20/6 : In the morning, the owner realized a pair of crocs and ladies' undergarment stolen. Shoe cabinet was wide opened. 

'Estima Gang' in action

This is a video compilation of 4 robbery cases which happened in the Puchong & KL area from 23rd till 24th July, 2015.

The suspects used MPVs such as Toyota Vellfire & Estima with well dressed driver like a Dato Sri (suspected to be Malay who spoke Malay & English), 1 Indon (or Malay) & 2 Chinese men with parangs. 

Remember to lock your house gate & doors & be more vigilant. 

Security Update by Police and Security Supervisor

House breakin at Road 22, North Zone last Friday. 

2 men entered the house through a window at about 10:20 pm by cutting the window grille. They carried away the safe and climbed over the brick wall fence with the safe.

The maid was in the house at that time but claimed that she did not hear anything.

'Estima Gang' Menace

PETALING JAYA: A gang of four parang-wielding robbers who move around in a white Toyota Estima are terrorising Klang Valley residents after pulling off at least 11 robbery cases in the past two months.

Except for two cases where they were reported to have come in a Toyota Vellfire and a Lexus MPV, the robbers had used a heavily-tinted white Toyota Estima in the rest of the robberies they committed.

The vehicles were fitted with false number plates in all cases.

Dubbed the “Estima Gang”, the robbers are behind nine cases in Selangor and two in Kuala Lumpur.

Police have reports from victims in Puchong, USJ, Cheras, Bukit Antarabangsa and Rawang. Read more .....

Security briefing by police

3 masked Indian men with parangs robbed a family at Road 7 (non-guarded area) last week. 

The men entered SS20 with a child in a car to avert suspicion. No one was injured during the incident but 2 cars and valuables were stolen. 

 

IT consultant slashed, robbed while checking bank balance

PETALING JAYA: An IT consultant was slashed and robbed while he was checking his bank balance at an ATM in Kota Damansara.

A man wearing a full-face helmet is reported to have walked up to the victim and brandished a knife in the 6.30pm, Sunday incident.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the robber had forced the victim to withdraw RM1,000 from the ATM.

“After taking the cash, the robber tried to grab the victim’s ATM card and there was a struggle. The robber slashed the man a few times before getting away,” he told The Star Online.

ACP Azmi added that the robber got onto the motorcycle of an accomplice to flee the scene.

A young man was texting on his handphone outside his house. 
Four motorbikes cruised by, stopped, one of the motorists attacked the young man.
Took his handphone and wallet. The victim's face was injured and bleeding.

The robbery posted on our blog yesterday took place on Road 3 not Road 6.

Robbery on 10 Mar 2014

Received the following email from resident on Road 6.

'At 8.30pm on 10 March 2014, my opposite neighbor had her bag snatched  by 6 men on 3 motor bikes. 
Police fr 0377222222( D.U police station ) came within minutes but the thieves had already made a quick getaway. 
The lady had just come home fr office n was exiting her car when this happened ! They signalled for her bag without uttering a sound, so she couldn't tell whether they were Indonesians. The area was dark. Fortunately she was not hurt.'

A lady walking along Road 11 was robbed by 2 men on a motorbike. She reported one of the men pointed a pistol at her and took her bag containing her bank books, house keys and AEON gift vouchers.

Happy New Year! Unfortunately, we have a couple of incidents to start off the new year.

Robbery, Jalan SS20/1
3 Nepalese were robbed of handphones and cash in front of Wisma TA. 

Attempted Robbery, Jalan SS20/13, today at 2:50pm 
The sliding door of the house was slightly ajar. There were 7 family members including the maid inside the house. Suddenly, 2 well-dressed masked men jumped over the wall and rushed into the house. They drew the curtains and told the house owner in Cantonese that they were here to ‘kau choy’. When the men were about to go upstairs, one of them received a call on his handphone and both the men rushed off and left without taking anything. The men were seen going off in a white Mercedes S Class.

Update - robbery at Road 16

It was a robbery committed at Road 16 on Friday night and not a house break-in.

The victims were coming back in their car and were opening the auto gate to enter when 2 Indian men (looked like father and son) on a motorbike stopped opposite the house. The younger Indian man got down with a parang and demanded for cash. The older Indian man then came over as well and demanded for their mobile phones.

Robbery at handphone shop

KLANG: A video footage showing two parang-wielding men robbing a handphone shop in Bandar Puteri, Klang, here has gone viral on social media sites.

The 1.42-minute video recording from the shop’s CCTV showed the men threatening a female worker with parang before ransacking the store.

Midway through the video, a customer is seen walking into the store and fleeing immediately upon seeing the robbers.

Suresh Kalyenannan, 25, who is the store owner’s brother, uploaded the video at 2am yesterday to warn the public about the robbers.

He said the thieves even snatched a gold chain from the neck of the frightened shop assistant.

“They left scratches and red marks on Ana’s (the shop assistant) neck,” he said yesterday.

He added that a barber next door came to Ana’s aid when she heard her screaming but the robbers had already fled the scene by then.

“She is still shaken by the entire incident,” he said.

The two suspects had allegedly entered the store on the pretext of buying top-up phone cards.

The owner lost more than RM1,000 in the robbery.

The video was first shared on the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foun­dation (MCPF) Facebook page before being uploaded on YouTube.

The video on MCPF’s page received more than a hundred comments con­demning the act while some called for the police to act immediately.

South Klang police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Mat Yusop said police were currently studying the CCTV footage.

“We have launched a manhunt for the suspects,” he said.

Robbery at SS21/11 Damansara Utama

Received the following email from Damansara Jaya Residents and Owners Association (DJROA)

"This happened on 15/10/13 about 9.00pm at SS21/11 Damansara Utama. 

Four Chinese men, well-dressed, travelling in a Mercedes, stopped in front of a 2-storey terrace house, prised open the auto gates, rushed in with parang to the grill door and rapidly prised it open. 

A family member watching TV in the house, on hearing the noise, wondered what happened outside, unlatched the main timber door to take a look. The robbers simply rushed in. Within 5 minutes, they robbed the family of cash and valuables, and fled in their Mercedes car.

What could the security guards do to help? Apparently nothing! They only knew when the victims reported after the robbers had disappeared.

Such robbers can easily pass through security guards and drive around the residential area looking for easy targets. Once they spot an opportunity, they can act very fast. They are well-equipped with crow-bars, huge spanners, parang, etc. They are experts in house breaking. They act so fast that by the time the security guards smell anything, if at all, these criminals have fled. Don't even think of the police arriving to catch them.

Be alert always. This can happen to anyone, anytime. Always lock your gates, grills, doors, and don't hang around outside your house alone, with doors open, as if inviting the robbers to come in. They won't thank you for it. Maybe chop off your head!!"

Robbery

Money changer was travelling from Tropicana City Mall when a car knocked his car from behind in front of Glomac. Money changer came out to check his car, a couple of men came out from the other car and robbed him of his money.

A 3-metre python was caught at Road 10 in the Northern Zone. There have also been sightings of snakes in the Central Zone.

Security Update by the Police - 4 July 2013

 Kpl Azmi updating residents on the incidents that have happened during the past week

Last week was not a good week for SS20, with most of the incidents happening in the  Southern Zone …  latest being a house break-in at Jalan SS20/7 yesterday morning at around 3:30 am. 3 Chinese men armed with parangs broke into a house in Jalan SS20/7 and got off with cash and valuables.

The police have stepped up patrol in SS20.

An update on the robbery at the restaurant and mini market last Friday – 10 men were involved in the robbery… a few of them went into the shops while the rest acted as look-out at different spots in the area.
