SECURITY ALERT

The security company of the Central Zone has alerted our residents to be wary of an old Malay woman who goes round pressing doorbells. She did that in Bandar Utama and after that they experienced 6 cases of house break-ins. Suspect she is an informer.

If you see her or any stranger going round pressing doorbells, please call the police at the DU police station, tel: 03-7722 2222 or inform the security guards.

Gated and Guarded Security Scheme

SS20 Central Zone comprising Jalan SS20/12 to Jalan SS20/20 will be implementing the Gated and Guarded Security Scheme effective 1 May 2014. A briefing on the modus operandi of the scheme was held last night (24 April 2014). There was a large turn out of residents to discuss the way the scheme is going to be operated and how it will affect them. With the frequent and rampant criminal incidents in the area, majority of the residents are in full support to implement the security scheme. While some may argue that security is the responsibility of the police, but residents too must share the responsibility in safe-guarding our families from falling prey to criminals. The police will continue their usual patrolling duties in the area to complement and support our guards. It is the residents' hope that with the scheme, we will be cutting down the crime statistics and at the same time enjoy a peaceful time living in the area. The scheme will also prevent outsiders from enjoying free parking indiscriminately along our roads and in front our houses. We will be able to enjoy more space!

Security Guards need to be more responsible .......

Received the following email from a resident regarding the attitude of the security guards in the Northern Zone ......

"Just to let you know in case other people are facing the same issue.

I'm an owner of a house under renovation on 20/10 facing TTDI, and was informed by the contractor that 2 guys on motor bikes came over this morning asking for money and threatened to beat up the workers. According to them, when they went to the security guys for help, they were given the cold shoulder.

I was planning to sign up for the security program once I moved in, but this incident is not encouraging. I understand that it is difficult to stop outsiders from driving in, but they (security guards) should be more responsive when called for. I hope that you can highlight this incident so that the rest of the neighbors are aware."

Security guards at Mamak restaurants

REGULARS at mamak restaurants will be pleased to know that some of their favourite haunts will soon have armed security guards to protect the proprietors and customers from robbers.

If you have been watching the news or are active in social media, you will have seen the video of a robbery at a mamak restaurant on Youtube.

The incident is believed to have taken place at a mamak restaurant in Section 15, Shah Alam, during the early hours of the morning late last month.

The video showed parang-wielding men wearing crash helmets bursting into a sparsely occupied restaurant and relieving customers of their laptops and other belongings. Read more .......
