MBPJ gives RM6000 for Security & Safety

RA and RT Committee Members invited to the launch of the Petaling Jaya Safe City Master Plan held at the Banquet Hall, MBPJ on 16 March 2016.

A total of 80 elegible RA, RT and JMB received RM6000 each during the launch. 

Dato Koh Kia Lim, Deputy Chairman of RA SS20 Central received the allocation on behalf of our association from YAB Dato Seri Mohamed Azmin Bin Ali, Mentri Besar of Selangor.

The allocation is for the Neighbourhood Safety Team Petaling Jaya Programme (PKKPJ) which is to be utilized to encourage the activation of security programmes in the community with the objective of creating awareness regarding safety and also increase the involvement of the community with PDRM and other responsible agencies.

Mayor's new formula to keep PJ clean

Waste collection contractors who do not perform up to mark during the probationary period will have their contracts terminated.

 NO SLACKING: Garbage collection contractors will be on a one-year probationary period to ensure that they maintain the quality of their service

PETALING JAYA: ALL bulk, garden and domestic waste collection contractors, who are to start their services in the city, will be given a six-month probation period to gauge their services.

This was announced by Mayor Datin Paduka Alinah Ahmad after her swearing-in ceremony as a councillor and new mayor yesterday.

She said contractors who fared well will be given another six months probation to ensure that they maintain the good service. Upon completion of the probation period, which takes up to a year, the contractor will be awarded a  one-year contract for his services.    Read more ......

IN AN effort to be dubbed as “a true cycling city,” the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is coming up with a proposal to build inner and outer dedicated bicycle lanes.


The commitment for PJ City Cycleways Network comes in its 2012 review of the city’s transport strategy that hinges on the Special Area Plan and the Local Agenda 21.


PJ mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman said the city had a vision to lay out an inter-connected network of bicycle lanes that would allow cyclists to traverse parts of PJ on the dedicated bicycle lanes. Read more ......

Quick response team to keep PJ clean

PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya City Council has set up a Quick Response Team (QRT) to take immediate action on complaints about rubbish in the city.

After chairing the monthly full board meeting recently, Mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman (pic) announced the formation of the QRT, to be headed by council public complaints director Tengku Nazaruddin Zainudin.

The move supports the council which took over public cleansing and domestic waste collection from Alam Flora Sdn Bhd on Oct 16. Read more .......

Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman is the first mayor in the country with an official postage stamp.

PETALING JAYA: Petaling Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman is well on the way of being recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) as the first mayor in the country with an official postage stamp.

Petaling Jaya City Council public relations officer Zainun Zakaria said Pos Malaysia had confirmed that Roslan was the first mayor in the country to have his official postage stamps issued. Read more: Read more ........

Free parking, free health checks in PJ

PETALING JAYA: Residents of Petaling Jaya can look forward to free parking on June 20 at all parking lots owned by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

That is one of the many free services provided by MBPJ to mark its fifth anniversary as a city on June 20, said Petaling Jaya mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman at a press conference recently.

"We provide a number of free services on that day as a show of appreciation to the Petaling Jaya residents," said Roslan.  Read more .......
