Girth of the tree is 390 cm.

We hope that MBPJ will carry out regular maintenance to protect and preserve this beautiful heritage tree.

Hari Organik is coming to SS20!

One of the best ways to practice wellness is to eat natural and organic food that fuel your mind and body. 

The 27th Edition Hari Organik is organized by the Centre for Environment, Technology and Development, Malaysia (CETDEM), in collaboration with RA SS20 Central and supported by Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) and Wellness Concept (M) Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. 

* Learn how to lead a healthy & sustainable lifestyle, and other eco-friendly practices.

* Demos and talks will be conducted on how to compost kitchen and garden waste. Talk topics will be related to organic farming/gardening and health / environmental matters. 

* Sale of food, natural household products and skincare items, as well as wellness products.

* Tour to SS20 Central Zone Xero Waste Station. Compost samples will be given out to the first 150 visitors.

* Lots of fun, games, lucky draw and other awareness activities for children and adults.  

All are welcome. Don't miss this interesting green event!

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own shopping bags and tiffin-carriers.

SS20 residents celebrate Malaysia Day with cops

RESIDENTS from SS20 Damansara Kim got together with policemen from the nearby Damansara station to hold a potluck party to celebrate Malaysia Day.

Organised by the local Rukun Tetangga and other neighbourhood organisations, representatives from other resident bodies and Rukun Tetangga (RT) in Damansara also attended the celebrations along with Damansara Utama assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin.

Damansara station deputy commander Sub-Inspector Mohd Isa Abdullah handed out certificates of appreciation to residents who had been active in the neighbourhood’s community policing scheme.   Read more ......

Potluck luncheon at the Northern Zone

Northern Zone residents celebrated their 2nd anniversary of G&G with a potluck luncheon at the field in the Northern Zone.

Invited guests were ADUN for Damansara Utama, YB Yeo Bee Yin, the police and residents from the Central and Southern Zone.

Dr S M Wong, Chairman of the RA North Zone, informed residents that the crime rate in their area was well controlled with the G&G. For year 2013, there were only 4 reported incidents in the Northern Zone compared to the numerous incidents reported in the Central and Southern Zone.

YB Yeo thanked the residents for volunteering their time for the benefit of the community and updated the residents on the projects that she is working on. This included combating increasing crime in the commercial area.

Residents of Jalan SS20/8 held a meetup to discuss security issues

30 June 2013, 5pm – A total of 50+ residents from SS20/8 & SS20/9 along with the nearby roads gathered to discuss the crime and security issues that have been increasing of late. When the residents shared with each other about their experience with crime – it was alarming to hear that out of the 50+ Southern Zone Dsara Kim residents who turned up , approximately 70% of residents who turned up either have personally experienced a crime in their own home or neighbours home over the past few years. With us is YB Yeo Bee Yin, ADUN for Dsara Utama.

Lost dog

Male dog found wandering in Damansara Kim on Saturday, Oct 20 afternoon. 

He is estimated to be around 5 years old, and is a beagle lab cross. He was wearing an old faded red collar and looking very lost. Friendly dog.

PJ SS20 residents decided to organise their own security — and asked for help from the police rather than paying for private guards.

CAN a neighbourhood organise better (and free!) public security by working more closely with the police?

This is what the residents of Damansara Kim, Petaling Jaya, decided to do after reeling under a wave of snatch thefts, car break-ins and house burglaries in 2007.

“Rather than outsourcing the job to a private company, we decided to have dialogues with the police and requested more patrols in our area,” says Suresh Martin, a resident who is a security company consultant.  Read more .......

Man slashed and robbed

Received email a couple of days ago,


At 7:30pm, man with laptop walking in Damansara Kim robbed and slashed by 2 guys on motorbike. A resident saw the incident, shouted at the armed men. Bleeding victim was admitted to Damansara Specialist Hospital for treatment.

Residents upset over council’s action

Making a point: A resident seen arguing with an enforcement officer when they came to remove the barrier.

AN operation by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to bring down a permanent barrier of huge drums in Jalan SS20/17 in Damansara Kim, Petaling Jaya, saw several angry residents protesting against the move.

Just as the enforcement officers were cutting the chains that were holding the drums together, some residents were seen raising their voices. Read more ..... 

House break-in

7 Dec, 2011 - House break-in at about 8:00 pm at Jalan SS20/20. Owner was not in the house. The burglar broke in through the front door and left through the back door.

MBPJ's year-end goodies

The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is offering year-end goodies to owners of hybrid cars.

First, the city council announced free car parking for three months for owners of fuel-efficient hybrid cars and secondly, a 25% rebate on the annual assessment under its Low Carbon Green Rebate Assessment Scheme.

However, there is a catch. The cars should be bought within Petaling Jaya.

The free car parking for the said period alone will save the car owners RM300. Read more ......

Suspicious character on the prowl

Last week, one of our residents saw a suspicious-looking dark-skinned man holding a mobile phone looking into each and every house in SS20/13  at about 10.30 pm.

Later this suspicious-looking character walked into the back lane of SS20/16 -SS20/14.

Our resident immediately called 03-77222222 to inform the police.

Please be alert and take precaution. This guy may be on the lookout for opportunities to break into our homes ......

Quick response team to keep PJ clean

Mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman

PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya City Council has set up a Quick Response Team (QRT) to take immediate action on complaints about rubbish in the city.

After chairing the monthly full board meeting recently, Mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman (pic) announced the formation of the QRT, to be headed by council public complaints director Tengku Nazaruddin Zainudin.

The move supports the council which took over public cleansing and domestic waste collection from Alam Flora Sdn Bhd on Oct 16. Read more .......
