Organic waste, from the kitchen and the garden, makes up close to 50% of waste generated by the Malaysian household which will usually end up in a landfill. As the organic material rots in the landfill, the greenhouse gas, methane is released. Scientists have linked the increased release of methane into the evironment with global warming. To help address this, we can start composting.

Bamboo Cutting

Sunday, 2 Nov 2014
A gotong-royong was organized by the RT SS20 to cut the 2 big overgrown bamboo bushes at the South Zone field at Jalan SS20/5 today.

With the help from the members of the Outdoor Gear Malaysia, residents were finally able to clear off the overgrown bamboos after one full day of hard work.

SS20 residents are deeply grateful to the members of the Outdoor Gear Malaysia for sacrificing their time and energy to help them cut the bamboo bushes.

Kudos to all who participated in the gotong-royong!

Presentation Day

The judges arrived at the Central Zone in 2 vans accompanied by some MBPJ personnel to listen to Dato' Vincent Ng's presentation for the Anugerah Perdana Komuniti Mampan on Saturday, 1 Nov.

The presentation went well and the Q&A session was also well handled by Dato' Vincent and his committee members.

After the presentation, the judges were led to the field to see the composting project headed by Dr Joe Samy and Mr Chua.

There will be another presentation session in about 2 weeks' time.

Best of luck to RA SS20 Central!
