RM10K Grant for MySafe Neighbourhood Campaign

Members of the RA SS20 Central Zone attended the DUN Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House on Sunday 16 July 2017.
We were entertained with lively music and songs by the MBPJ Combo band and feasted on the spread of Hari Raya delicacies.
More importantly, YB Yeo Bee Yin, ADUN Damansara Utama presented a grant of RM10K to our RA under the "MySafe Neighbourhood Campaign". Well done RA SS20 Central Zone.
We will implement more security measures for the safety of our residents.

More trees for our park

13 July 2017

RA SS20 Central believes that every little bit that we do to help the environment counts.

Trees are awesome. They can clean the air  by filtering off the pollutants. They absorb carbon dioxide and releases oxygen. They can cool the environment too by releasing water vapours into the air.  So in May 2017, we requested for Tecoma trees to be planted in the field to help beautify and green our neighbourhood.

Tecoma trees in full bloom
With the help of the Landscape Dept of MBPJ, 13 Tecoma trees were planted in the Central Zone field today to help us take a step further towards a green low carbon community.

The children were really excited to see the new trees in the evening and eagerly helped to water them. Such a beautiful sight to see the kids watering the trees! Also can't wait to see the trees in full bloom!

Special thanks to Pn Zuraidah bt Sainan (Director, Landscape Dept, MBPJ) and her staff for their efficiency, support and help.

Beautification of Entrance

Beautification of Rd 12 entrance.
A project by the RA SS20 Central Environmental Committee to make our living space cleaner, greener, neater and more pleasant for our residents. This project is funded by the Sustainable Community Award Grant from MBPJ.

A big thank you to the project team especially Mrs Leong of Rd 12 and Mr Yee of Rd 13 who helped to monitor the contractors.

Also much appreciation to Mr Wong of Rd 12 and Mr Yeoh of Rd 11 who generously supply water to keep our plants green and alive!

Security Alert - Robbery

1) On Saturday night, four (4) robbers charged into a house at Road 21 while the family of old and young, was finishing their buka puasa get together and robbed them of cash, jewelry, etc.

The robbers came on motorcycles and were armed with parangs which they used to threaten the family. The robbers were reported to be young Malays, and one of them was possibly a female. A police report has been made at the DU police station.

2) On a separate issue, most of you would know that the Southern Zone "southwest side" G&G scheme has stopped more than a month ago. Some of the residents are at the moment trying to revive the scheme, especially in view of the Road 21 robbery incident.

3) The majority of us, Central Zone residents, are well aware that we are still fortunate to have a G&G scheme in place. This gives us the comfort that a robbery incident like the one in Road 21 is "very much LESS likely to occur". By having all (except one) entrances blocked off, 24 hour guards present at the entry point and scheduled patrols, it stops would-be robbers rounding/scouting our area. While our guards are not expected to confront "armed" individuals, they will promptly alert the police who can send in their patrol cars and personnel.

4) We appeal to all households in the Central Zone to contribute to the pooled fund to keep the scheme going for the sake of everyone in the community.

Always keep vigilant of your surroundings. Call the Damansara Utama Police station, at 03-77222222 to send their patrol car (MPV - mobile police vehicle) if you see any suspicious persons around our area.
